Selection Parameters

Motor Selection Parameters Buyers Should Prepare

If some values are unknown, upload the existing motor nameplate, datasheet or drawing and HEDUN will review the available information for quotation.

Replacement Path

Upload Your Existing Motor Nameplate

Many replacement inquiries can start with a clear nameplate photo. The information below helps compare electrical and mechanical requirements before quotation.

  • Rated power
  • Voltage and frequency
  • Rated current
  • Speed or poles
  • Frame size
  • Mounting arrangement
  • Insulation class
  • Duty information
  • Manufacturer model if visible

Driven Equipment

Application / Driven Equipment

Motor quotation depends on the driven equipment, starting load, operating environment and whether the motor will run with a VFD.

  • Fans & Blowers
  • Compressors
  • Conveyors & Material Handling
  • Process & Manufacturing Machinery
  • Mining & Heavy Equipment
  • Pumps & Water Equipment

VFD Operation

Motors for Variable Speed / VFD Operation

If the motor will operate with a variable frequency drive, share the operating requirements you know. These considerations help review motor selection without assuming fixed operating limits.

FAQ

Motor RFQ Questions

FAQ
Can HEDUN quote a replacement motor from an existing nameplate?

Yes. A clear photo of the existing motor nameplate is often the fastest starting point for replacement or equivalent motor selection.

Which motor details are most useful for quotation?

Power rating, voltage, frequency, speed, mounting, application, operating environment, quantity and destination country are helpful starting points.

Should VFD operation be mentioned in the RFQ?

Yes. If the motor will operate with a variable frequency drive, include the expected speed range, application and any available VFD or control requirements.

Are frame size and efficiency class required?

They are helpful when known, but they can remain optional during the first inquiry if the buyer uploads a nameplate, datasheet or drawing.
